Experiencing “America’s Favorite Drive”

First visit at the Blue Ridge Parkway. hundreds of beautiful thing u will admire...and i love it!

Being here at North Carolina for a month is a great stay for me. A lot of places to, sight seeing and adventure on mountains; Blur Ridge Parkway and Great smokey mountains, hiking on the Chimney Rock and bike riding.

Onetime we drove to the Blue Ridge Parkway, i had so much fun and by then i started to love beautiful mountains that i saw. It was so beautiful and relaxing. A peaceful and quiet place. The only sounds i heard was birds humming and rushing of the leaves. Of course, also the sounds from trucks and cars of people visiting. A drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway is slow paced and relaxing. Almost any overlook or trail will reveal much of the natural and cultural history here. Explore the many communities along the route that make the region so special. Enjoy the view, but watch the road or u may fall and roll down from more than 3000 ft elevation from the ground. When you reach the highest elevation u can lay down and relax on the grass. There`s no worries cause its safe and friendly, animals wont hurt u as long u wont mess with them.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is history waiting to be discovered! Although the road is often seen primarily as a scenic byway with plenty of natural attractions, it is also a cross-section of Appalachian mountain history. Stretching almost 500 miles along the crest of the Blue Ridge mountains through North Carolina and Virginia, it encompasses some of the oldest settlements of both pre-historic and early European settlement. Visitors can trace much of the history of Appalachian culture by observing overlook signs, visitor center exhibits, restored historic structures, and developed areas, all of which reveal points of particular interest. For a complete listing of the Parkway's historic attractions, contact the areas you will be visiting.

The weather conditions high on the mountains can vary tremendously from the weather in the surrounding valleys or piedmont region. Carrying a jacket or some rain gear is always a good idea. Check forecasts before your trip to the mountains and always have a few emergency supplies in the trunk of your car.

The Blue Ridge Parkway ranges in elevation from about 650 feet at James River in Virginia to almost 6,050 feet at Richland Balsam, south of Mount Pisgah.
I wish everybody a safe and joyful visit to this America`s Favorite Drive!!! Drive safely and with cautions.... ENJOY!!!
