Finding Simple Joys

Some people set very high ideals and some don`t. There is nothing wrong with them as long as they are attainable goals and not unreachable dreams. There are people who step on other’s foot conciously or unconsiously...just for them to get ahead. This is sometimes disguise as the drive to succeed. We worry about what other’s think of us, that is why we seek perfection wanting all the accolades, we are afraid to go wrong. There are those who forget to relax because they are too tied-up or whatever with their careers. Love of work is admirable but not at all times. We can be so workaholic but not to the extent that we`re giving up everything for it. When tension need to be released, we ought to do it, not at the expense of others… I’m not encouraging idleness. Far from it, I am simply asking when it was the last time we stop and look at everything around us with great optimism? when did we last experience calmness in watching the sunset, feeling light in going barefoot on sandy beaches, hearing nice music through the laughters of children, finding glee in gazing butterflies, being delightful for the smiles we get from strangers and many more…

Finding joys in simple things is not easy because it has to come FROM THE HEART like showing appreciation and kindness, the sincerity or lack of it registers on our face. But we can learn. Perhaps we can start by looking back, retracing our steps, until we back our real, amiable self with both feet on the ground. Then perhaps, with these we will learn how to live life to the fullest!!! Truly, we will say that finally were HOME.
